The Department of Natural Resources Canada (NRCan) requires an open license on existing lidar data acquired from 2013 to 2024 for an area of interest of 78,072 km2 in various regions of Alberta and Saskatchewan, including Lloydminster West, Red Deer, Fairview, Valleyview, Grimshaw, Swan Hills, Rocky Mountain House, Caroline, Lac La Biche, Fort Chipewyan and Channing/Flin Flon.
The license must be compatible with the Open Government License – Canada: https://open.canada.ca/en/open-government-licence-canada. This type of licence allows the use and distribution of the lidar data and derivative products generated by the Government of Canada to the entire population without restriction.
