Scope overview
The National Research Council Canada has a requirement for the supply of an active hydrogen maser to replace the current ones which are aging and have begun to demonstrate degraded performance which directly impacts the quality and robustness of the official timescale for Canada, and is detrimental to clock development and comparisons.
The new Maser will be used by the Frequency and Time group of the NRC Metrology Research Centre to support the generation and maintenance of Canada’s official timescale and will also be used in the development of NRC atomic clocks and their internal and external comparisons.
