REQUEST FOR EXPRESSION OF INTEREST ( Selection of Consultants ) SURINAME SARAMACCA CANAL SYSTEM REHABILITATION PROJECT Loan No: 8924 -SR - P165973 Assignment Title: Staffing of the Saramacca Canal Unit - ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT Reference No .: MPWSP\WB\SCSRP\CMP4-047 The Republic of Suriname has received a loan from the World Bank towards the Saramacca Canal System Rehabilitation Project and seeks to hire an Administrative Assistant to complete the Implementing Unit, Saramacca Canal Unit.

The consulting services (“the Services”) include among others: The Administrative Assistant will work within the Saramacca Canal Unit (SCU) who will act as the implementing agency for the project and will be responsible for the Personnel and Administrative aspects of the SCU, as well as with the general implementation aspects as needed.

This will require the preparation of staff files and administrative requirements for the implementation of projects The Ministry of Public Works and Spatial Planning now invites eligible Consultants (National) to indicate their interest in providing the Services.

Interested Consultants can submit a written application to the Ministry of Public Works and Spatial Planning at the address below and will be provided with the complete Terms of Reference (TOR).

The attention of interested Consultants is drawn to Section III, paragraphs 3.14, 3.16 and 3.17 of the World Bank’s “Procurement Regulations for IPF Borrowers” (Sixth Edition, February 2025) (“Procurement Regulations”), setting forth the World Bank’s policy on conflict of interest. The Consultant will be selected in accordance with the Selection of Individual Consultants Method set out in the Procurement Regulations.

The Consultant is responsible for meeting all tax liabilities, transportation cost arising out of the contract unless stated otherwise. For national consultants’ payment will be in Surinaamse Dollars (SRD). Further information can be obtained at the address below during business days office hours 08:00 till 14:00 Suriname time (Suriname time is -3 h GMT).
