Scope overview
This is a request for the previous ECF window, for school year 2021-22. Five Bus WiFi units were utilized throughout the 2021-22 school year to provide reliable internet connection for students while riding the school bus to/from home and athletics/field trips. Although the initial contract was initiated in May 2020, it remained active throughout our service with Kajeet, which is still active through June 2022.
The invoice for the 2021-22 school year was initiated prior to the funding window in May 2021, but the purchased services were active for 12months starting June 2021 through the end of the 2021-22 school year. This waiver is being requested to ensure that all of our students have access to reliable internet services while not in the brick and mortar school buildings.
The current needs for Summit School District center around accessibility for a specific group of students to access the internet for online learning due to the COVID-19 pandemic; including but not limited to students’ experiencing financial difficulties, unsecure home options, inconsistency with ability to connect to SSD supported smart bus, and internet inaccessibility due to location.
