Chief Engineer Position for One Health Project in Tajikistan

• The Republic of Tajikistan has received financing from the International Development Association and International Bank for Reconstruction and Development toward the cost of the One Health for Pandemic Prevention Food Systems Resilience and Ecosystem Health in Central Asia and intends to apply part of the proceeds for consulting services.

• Qualification requirements for candidates are as follow:
• A university degree in Civil/General Engineering, Construction Engineering, Architecture or a related field;
• At least 10 years of relevant professional experience as an Engineer;
• Prior experience working on World Bank funded projects and with other international agencies will be considered an advantage;
• Experience in veterinary and human health infrastructure projects (e.g., construction and/or rehabilitation of laboratories) will be considered an advantage;
• Having computer skills and engineering software such as AutoCAD/ArchiCAD;
• Proficiency in Tajik and Russian is required. English language skills will be considered an advantage.

The State Institution “Agriculture Entrepreneurship Development” Project Management Unit now invites eligible specialists to indicate their interest in providing the services. Interested specialists must provide information indicating that they are qualified to perform the services.

• The attention of interested candidates is drawn to Section III, paragraphs, 3.14, 3.16, and 3.17 of the World Bank’s “Procurement Regulations for IPF Borrowers” (July 2016, revised in February 2025) - Procurement in Investment Project Financing Goods, Works, Non-Consulting and Consulting Services (“Procurement Regulations”), setting forth the World Bank’s policy on conflict of interest.
• The selection will follow Open Competitive Selection of Individual Consultants in accordance with Section VI, paragraphs, 7.36 and 7.37 of Procurement Regulations.
• Interested candidates should submit a cover letter (maximum two pages) and a detailed CV (maximum five pages) clearly outlining how they meet the required qualifications.
