Scope overview
University Hospitals Morecambe Bay NHS Foundation Trust (UHMB) will act as the 'lead' organisation in terms of managing the tender process on behalf of the Trusts involved within the Northern Consortium. However, any final contract implementation, on-boarding and ongoing contract management will be the responsibility of the individual Trusts.
Each individual Trust reserves the right to commence the contract in accordance with their own required timescales and, each individual Trust reserves the right not to commence a contract at all. Full description
Westmorland and Furness Council Statement of Objectives The Trusts wish to enter into contract with a suitably qualified provider(s) to develop an innovative and practical solution for: "Providing an efficient, cost effective and timely service for safe handling, transport, disposal of clinical waste from the participating Trust's sites to its final point of disposal" It is envisaged that the contract period will be for THREE years, with an option to extend up to an additional 24 months based upon Trust requirements.
