Engineering Supervision for Southern Sisian-Kajaran Road Construction in Armenia

The Government of Armenia (the “Beneficiary”) has approached the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (the “EBRD”) and the European Investment Bank (the “EIB”) with a request to finance, on a sovereign basis, the construction of the 24-km Southern section of the Sisian - Kajaran road (the “Project”), part of the Tranche 4 of the North-South Road Corridor („NSRC“).

The Project will be implemented by the “Road Department Fund” (the “Implementing Agency”) on behalf and under the governance of the RA Ministry of Territorial Administration and Infrastructure (the “MTAI”).

The Engineer’s duties will cover the following tasks: • review and approval of the Contractor’s design; • technical supervision of the Works for the Southern Section of the Sisian-Kajaran road; the Consultant’s duties acting as an Engineer will include carrying out all normal duties foreseen by the FIDIC Conditions of Contract for Plant and Design Build for Electrical and Mechanical Plant, and for Building and Engineering Works, Designed by the Contractor (Yellow Book) (1st Edition 1999); • to contribute to timely implementation of works according to Contractor’s Work Programme; • monitoring and reporting pursuant to the relevant Loan Agreement and relevant EBRD Environmental and Social Policies; • monitoring and reporting pursuant to the relevant Loan Agreement and relevant EIB Environmental and Social Policies; • Ensure compliance of the contractor with all environmental and social safeguards requirements of the EBRD and EIB; • Collaborate with other parties engaged for the Project.
