Consulting Services for Agricultural Training and Capacity Development in Uzbekistan's Fergana Valley

REQUEST FOR EXPRESSIONS OF INTEREST (CONSULTING SERVICES – FIRMS SELECTION) COUNTRY: Republic of Uzbekistan PROJECT TITLE: Water Resources Management in the Fergana Valley - Phase II. Loan No.: 6083-UZ, Grant No.: TF0A9862 Assignment Title: Consulting services for training and capacity development in the field of introducing modern agricultural practices, water-saving technologies, water resources protection, and the environment. Number: FVWRMP-II/EUG-II/CON/3 The Republic of Uzbekistan has received the second tranche of a European Union grant to cover the costs of Component B (Support to Agricultural Modernization) of the "Water Resources Management in the Fergana Valley - Phase II" project. During the project, support will be provided to farmers in the implementation of modern agricultural practices, water-saving technologies, and water resource protection. The project aims to improve water and agricultural management, support climate change resilience, and promote rational water use. The project will organize a range of training events and facilitate the exchange of experience using global best practices in sustainable agriculture and water resources. Consulting services ("Services") will include:

• Training and capacity development: Organizing training sessions for farmers, water management organizations, and water user associations on modern agricultural practices, the implementation of water-saving technologies, and water resource protection.
• Training needs assessment: Assessing training needs for different categories of project participants (farmers, government agencies, water management organizations).
• Organization of study tours: Planning and organizing local and regional study tours for farmers and water management organization staff to exchange experiences and implement best practices in water-saving technologies and sustainable agriculture.
• Training in Modern Water-Saving Technologies: Conducting practical classes and training on water-saving technologies, such as drip irrigation, water use optimization, water resource management systems, and other modern practices.
• Preparation of Training Materials and Programs: Developing training materials and programs on agriculture and water management, water resource protection, and the implementation of water-saving technologies.

Consultant Requirements:

• At least 10 years of experience conducting training events in agriculture, water resource management, and environmental protection.
• Successful completion of at least five training contracts on the implementation of modern, innovative agricultural methods and the use of water-saving technologies in projects involving IFIs over the past three years.
• Experience working in Central Asia and the CIS on similar projects.
• Experience organizing study tours and training on the implementation of water-saving technologies and sustainable agriculture.
