Scope overview

The Department for Mental Health and Substance Abuse Services is responsible for providing individual services for persons with mental disorders, including health and care services in accordance with the Patient and User Rights Act § 2-1a cf. The Health and Care Services Act § 3-2, 6th section letter c, and shall offer residential and service offers to a user with a great need for care.

The aim of the service offer is to offer proper health and care services to users by facilitating conditions for worthy everyday life with a focus on good quality of life. The service offer must have an environmental therapeutic approach with emphasis on safety, predictability and care, clear communication and regulation of behaviour.
