Scope overview
Das Schulgebäude Sandgruben II an der Schwarzwaldallee 163 wurde 1956 vom Basler Architekt Fritz Beckmann erstellt und seitdem bis auf punktuelle Eingriffe nicht saniert. Es beinhaltet Unterrichtsräume und eine Turnhalle, welche derzeit von der Allgemeinen Gewerbeschule Basel (AGS) und der Sekundarschule Sandgruben I genutzt werden.
Zu den baulichen Massnahmen wie Erdbebenertüchtigung, Brandschutz und energetische und ökologische Ertüchtigungen liegt eine Machbarkeitsstudie vor. Die Gesamtsanierung soll bei laufendem Betrieb und etappiert stattfinden. Der Perimeter der Sanierung umfasst die Gebäude 53638 (Trakt H), 53636 (Trakt F) und 53637 (Trakt G) sowie die direkte Umgebung mit dem innenliegenden Garten auf der Parzelle 1945.
Das Gebäude befindet sich seit 2010 im Inventar schützenswerter Bauten der Denkmalpflege Basel-Stadt.
