Scope overview

Research: •The size of the current Low Carbon and Environmental Goods Sector in Greater Manchester, and breakdowns into key strengths and activity. •How big the sector will need to be to deliver the pipelines of investment identified across key asset types from the Net Zero Accelerator activity (e.g. Heat Networks, Rooftop PV, Electric Vehicle Charging Infrastructure, social housing retrofit etc).

•Indications on how this growth might be achieved and where the growth might come from i.e. upskilling existing workforce, new market entrants, school leavers vs opportunity for those currently unemployed etc.

The outcome being GMCA is able to design an implementation plan to ensure that we have a workforce capable of delivering our necessary decarbonisation activity, and that the GM-benefits of growing this workforce are maximised.
