Scope overview
We are seeking a practical solution to reinforce the current gantry allowing us to lift four separate pumps vertically about 3 to 4 meters so these pumps can be checked. Our existing gantry system is not certified and cannot be used for this work. The reason is that our gantry is attached to an old wooden shed. There are four separate pumps, each weighing up to about 4 tonnes.
It takes about a day to lift, check, and reinstall each pump. At that time a decision will be made if the pump can be lowered back into the location, if it will be maintained on-site, or if it must be removed from the pump station for repair off-site.
If the pump needs to be removed off-site it will need to be chain-blocked or run along a scaffolded gantry out of the pump station to a landing area outside the eastern area of the station.
