The Department of Social Services (DSS), Federal Homeless Policy & Reporting Unit, Office of Research & Policy Innovation is requesting that Eccovia's contract to host the HMIS data warehouse be renewed for three (3) years. DSS receives funding from the federal Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) to operate NYC's Homeless Management Information System (HMIS), which is used to submit annual federal reports to HUD, such as LSA, HIC-PIT, and SPM.

The NYC HMIS currently comprises 100+ agencies and 1,200+ projects, including street outreach, homelessness prevention, emergency shelter, transitional housing, and permanent supportive housing projects.
