Scope overview
The Far North District Council (FNDC) is currently undertaking a comprehensive review of the Far North District Plan and a housing and business development capacity assessment (HBA), prepared in accordance with the requirements of the National Policy Statement for Urban Development 2020 (NPS-UD) has been identified as necessary to inform the proposed district wide spatial strategy and to provide evidence to support future growth areas to be identified in the Kerikeri-Waipapa spatial plan.
The HBA will be the base evidence to plan for growth in the Far North District which must be sufficiently detailed to inform development of servicing options that can be costed for a schedule of rates that inform development contribution levies for infrastructure and services across the district.
The HBA will be relied on as critical evidence at upcoming hearings for the Far North Proposed District Plan and as critical evidence to inform the location and extent of growth required across the Far North in the short, medium and long term.
