Correctional Service Canada (CSC) Health Services require Infectious Disease Physician Services for Okimaw Ohci Healing Lodge and Willow Cree Healing Lodge in the Prairie Region.Okimaw Ohci Healing Lodge (OOHL) is located at Maple Creek, Saskatchewan, S0N 1N0Willow Cree Healing Lodge (WCHL) is located at Duck Lake, Saskatchewan, S0K 1J0The Contractor (Infectious Disease Physician (IDP)) must provide integrated patient centred medical services to inmates (referred to as patients in this notice) in collaboration with the Institution's inter-disciplinary health care team that includes, but is not limited to: nurses (nurse practitioners, registered nurses, registered psychiatric nurses, licensed practical nurses, registered practical nurses), primary care physicians, social workers, dentists, denturists, infectious disease physician specialist, pharmacists, pharmacy technicians, psychologists, psychiatrists, behavioural science technicians, mental health providers, psychoeducators, personal support workers, client care attendants, optometrist, physiotherapists, x-ray technologists, foot care specialists, occupational therapists, administrative personnel and other healthcare professionals.Objectives: Provide timely, efficient and cost-effective clinical infectious disease services to federal incarcerated patients at OOHL and WCHL.
The Contractor (IDP) must assess and provide appropriate care to patients with viral hepatitis (chronic hepatitis B; hepatitis C), HIV, and tuberculosis, in addition to other infectious diseases and conditions.
Deliverables: Provide infectious disease care during sessions/clinics, in person or through approved remote clinics at an interval sufficient to provide timely and appropriate care to those who require it, while ensuring that clinic efficiency and cost-effectiveness are optimized.The Contractor (IDP) must provide care based on clinical independence and professional judgment that is not unduly influenced by correctional considerations.
Consistent with the Person Health Care Home model adopted by CSC Health Services, the Contractor (IDP) must provide care that is integrated as demonstrated by a documented Interdisciplinary Integrated Care Plan (ICP) that includes input from the patient.
