This opportunity in a nutshell The Dunedin City Council (DCC) seeks to engage an experienced, skilled and qualified audit service provider to partner with the Dunedin City Council (DCC) in the delivery of its three year internal audit programme. In awarding the contract to a Supplier, the Council intends to ensure: ? Best value for Dunedin ratepayers ? The realisation of quality strategic and business objectives ?
Efficiency and effectiveness in the delivery of the DCC�s services and business activities. The DCC invites respondents to provide suggestions on how they might work with us to minimise risk, ensure value for money, identify improvement opportunities, build innovation and/or increase business efficiency.
What we need The Supplier shall provide internal audit services for Council as follows: a) The Internal Auditor will work with senior management, the Risk and Internal Audit Manager and the Audit and Risk Subcommittee of Council to agree a three year internal audit programme which sets out the recommended scope of internal audits within mutually agreed �annual workplans�.
b) The internal audit programme should have due regard to the key internal controls for strategic and operational risk, including monitoring compliance to business policies, procedures and undertaking an appropriate level of forensic audit, as well as providing ad hoc business or systems reviews. c) The Internal Auditor is accountable to the DCC via the Audit and Risk Subcommittee.
Full description
The appointment or removal of the Internal Auditor will follow Audit and Risk Subcommittee�s recommendation to the Council. d) Internal Audit will have operational support from DCC senior management and the Risk and Internal Audit Manager and strategic support from the Audit and Risk Subcommittee. The DCC�s Internal Audit Policy (copy attached) should be read in conjunction with this RFP.
