Scope overview
Die Kantonsstrasse K 4 ist die Hauptverkehrsachse in der Stadt Kriens. Im Zentrum Kriens ist sie aufgrund des hohen Verkehrsaufkommens in den Spitzenstunden regelmässig überlastet. Es kommt zu längeren Rückstaus, die auch den öffentlichen Verkehr behindern. Das bestehende Radverkehrsangebot im Stadtkern entspricht nicht den aktuellen Normen und Bedürfnissen.
Weiter bestehen vielfältige verkehrliche als auch städtebauliche Ansprüche wie Minimierung der Trennwirkung oder Aufwertung des öffentlichen Raums an den heute primär verkehrsorientiert gestalteten Strassenraum. Die Verkehrssituation inkl. der angrenzenden Gemeindestrassen soll optimiert werden.
Als erster Schritt in der Planung des Strassenprojekts soll in Zusammenarbeit mit der Stadt Kriens ein Betriebs- und Gestaltungskonzept (BGK) erarbeitet werden.
