Scope overview

Central Hawkes Bay District Council (CHBDC) are investigating options for upgrading the current Kairakau water system. This may include the current water source, storage and treatment. Below is some background on how and why the project was conceived. The project was conceived from a requirement to upgrade the water system to meet community needs and drinking water compliance.

Furthermore, the project was expedited due to a recent failure of the bore, and vandalism to the storage tanks. Supporting this work is the requirement to apply for additional funding through the latest round 5 of the Tourism Infrastructure Fund.

Council is looking to procure a supplier, who can present a proposal on how to collaboratively partner with council to work through this project to gain best value for money for our community and assist us in delivering this key project in #thebigwaterstory.
