Scope overview
Callaghan Innovation went to market in late 2017 to engage suitable suppliers to deliver Lean 2.0, a new programme in development that is the digital extension of Lean. In 2018 the Lean 2.0 programme was prototyped with two customers. We are now scaling Lean 2.0 to further test assumptions and validate in the marketplace before launching as a core programme.
We will be engaging suitable suppliers through this RFP to deliver Lean 2.0 Lean 2.0 combines lean with industry 4.0 digital technologies to drive efficiency gains for businesses. This frees up resources to direct towards R&D and innovation in the long term. Research indicates that combining lean methodologies with digital technologies enables businesses to increase their productivity and become more competitive.
There is an opportunity to combat New Zealand's low rate of labour productivity compared with other OECD nations. What we need: Callaghan Innovation is seeking proposals from suitable suppliers to work one to one with businesses to help them implement Industry 4.0 to drive efficiency gains.
