Scope overview
The purpose of the MOIA Legal Technical Mentorship (MOIA LTM) program is to support MOIA LSCs and the community at large by focusing on the following goals: a. Increase the substantive and operational knowledge, skills, and ability of LSCs and their staff to provide immigration legal information and services to higher volumes of low-income immigrant New Yorkers. b.
Increase the substantive and operational knowledge, skills, and ability of LSCs and their staff to effectively identify and handle immigration cases of increasing complexity, and serve clients presenting with special challenges or needs. c.
Build and strengthen community, cohesion, communication, co-development, information and capacity sharing, and referral practices among LSCs and the broader professional community. d. Maximize the strengths and capabilities of each LSC to increase the collective service capacity of the whole. e.
Increase citywide capacity for the delivery of immigration legal services that are free, high-quality, community-rooted, culturally and linguistically responsive, and responsive to the diverse and emerging needs of immigrant New Yorkers.
