Scope overview

Reference: UNDP-AGO-00227 The United Nations System of organization in Angola consists of fourteen Agencies classified as Programmes, Funds, and specialized Agencies, namely: UNDP, UNICEF, UNFPA, WHO, FAO, UNHCR, UNODC, UN RCO, UNDSS, UNAIDS, IFAD, ILO, UNOPS and IOM.

The Agencies develop highly technical documents covering various programmatic areas encompassing fields such as development, economics, policymaking, legal, labour, construction, environment & natural resources management, energy, population, health, child, food, nutrition, and agriculture among other co-related areas.

English and French are two of the UN official languages widely used by the UN Agencies in Angola and as such most documents to be shared with partners are produced in these two languages, thus, requiring due and standard translations into Portuguese – the country´s official language. Simultaneous interpretation services from or to those languages are also frequently needed in events organized by UN Agencies.

the UNDP, on behalf of the UN Agencies in Angola intends to enter into a Long-Term Agreement – LTA - with specialized firms/companies, or individuals for the provision of translation services of documents from English and or French into Portuguese and vice-versa, including versions, revisions and editing in the same languages.

The LTA will be issued for one year and may be extended for an additional two years, subject to satisfactory performance. 5.

Evaluation and Award UNDP will evaluate the offers on the basis of their qualification/technical compliance and award will be made to one, two or three bidders offering the lowest prices among the offerors per component (translations, interpretation and equipment) and where the price difference between the first and second bidders do not exceed the 20% range.
