Het onderzoeksinstituut GBB, van de Faculteit Science and Engineering maakt voor haar structuur-biologisch onderzoek gebruik van een geavanceerde Thermo Fisher Talos Arctica cryo-elektronen microscoop (voorheen FEI Instruments).
Voor deze cryo-EM loopt het huidige onderhoudscontract (idem Thermo Fisher/FEI Instruments) af en dient een nieuw onderhoudscontract afgesloten te worden, opdat de microscoop optimaal blijft functioneren; ook nadat de recent aangekochte detector geïnstalleerd is.
De Rijksuniversiteit Groningen (RUG) wil Thermo Fisher de opdracht verstrekken voor een nieuw onderhoudscontract van 1 jaar voor de Talos Arctica cryo-elektronen microscoop.
