  • The federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia, Ministry of Agriculture received financing from the World Bank towards the cost of Food System Resilience Program (FSRP), and intends to apply part of the proceeds toward payments under the contract for Delivery of AI (Artificial Insemination)-Field Equipment and Consumables (AI kits).
  • The Ministry of Agriculture now invites sealed bids from eligible bidders for the following materials:

  • Bidding will be conducted through National Competitive Procurement using a Request for Bids (RFB) procedures as specified in the World Bank’s Procurement Regulations for Investment Project Financing (IPF) Borrowers as indicated in ‘Procurement in Investment Project Financing, Goods, Works, Non-Consulting, and Consulting Services’, Sixth Edition, February 2023, and the World Bank’s ‘Guidelines on Preventing and Combating Fraud and Corruption in Projects Financed by IBRD Loans and IDA Credits and Grants’, revised as of July 1, 2016 all eligible bidders as defined in the procurement regulation.
  • Interested eligible bidders may obtain further information from Ministry of Agriculture Procurement Executive Block A, 2nd Floor, Room number 5 or Block C, 1st Floor Room No.3, FSRP project office and inspect the bidding documents during office hours 9:00 to 12:00 A.M and 2:00 to 5:00 P.M at the address given bellow.
  • A complete set of bidding documents in English may be purchased by interested eligible bidders up on the submission of the written application to the address below and upon payment of fee of Birr 500.00 or an equivalent amount in a freely convertible currency. The method of payment should be cash or bank transfer through account number 1000009144009 for the beneficiary of Ministry of Agriculture.
  • Bids must be delivered to the address below on or before January 8, 2025 at 10:00AM. Electronic bidding will not be permitted. Late bids will be rejected. Bids will be publicly opened in the presence of the bidder's representatives and anyone who interested to attend at the address below on January 8, 2025 at 10:15 AM.
  • All bids must be accompanied by a bid security as indicated in the above table in a freely convertible currency in the form of CPO or unconditional bank guarantee. Insurance guarantee is not acceptable.
  • Attention is drawn to the Procurement Regulations requiring the Borrower to disclose information on the successful bidder’s beneficial ownership, as part of the Contract Award Notice, using the Beneficial Ownership Disclosure Form as included in the bidding document.
