Zurich Municipal Equipment Carriers Procurement for Winter Services and Cleaning

ERZ Stadtreinigung cleans all public areas in the city of Zurich and provides winter services. To this end, Stadtreinigung uses 12 small municipal equipment carriers and four medium-sized municipal equipment carriers. The top priority for these vehicles is reliable use in winter services to ensure and maintain the operational readiness of the road and path network in winter conditions.

The second priority is to carry out leaf clearance. The medium-sized municipal equipment carriers can be converted to perform these different tasks using an interchangeable system. For winter service, they are equipped with a wet salt spreader and a snow plow, and for cleaning work, they are equipped with a leaf vacuum and leaf container.

The maintenance and servicing of the vehicles and their superstructures is carried out in ERZ's own municipal workshop. ERZ intends to procure four new medium-sized municipal equipment carriers over the next two years to replace its existing vehicles.

In addition to the delivery of the vehicles, all associated ancillary services must be provided, as defined in the detailed service specifications of this tender (Part D, D1.1-LV). The contract also includes the provision of service parts (planned service costs) for vehicles and superstructures over a period of ten years, as well as the delivery of spare parts (unplanned spare part costs) over ten years.

The amounts calculated for this are based on experience from previous years and have been determined as average values. Both the purchase of service parts and spare parts is purely optional, and the supplier has no claim to acceptance. The activation of the options is at the sole discretion of ERZ. The options are therefore merely optional performance items.

The quantities specified for the expected delivery of spare parts do not constitute binding commitments. However, the parties expressly acknowledge that upon conclusion of the spare parts contract, a cost ceiling of a maximum of CHF 20,000 (excluding VAT) per vehicle and year applies.
