Sole Source Contract for Xerox NearStar Data Server Application Support Services

Pursuant to Section 3-05 of the PPB Rules, the Department of Social Services Human Resources Administration (DSS/HRA) intends to enter into a Sole Source contract with Xerox Corporation for Professional Services for Xerox NearStar Data Server Application for the service period of 4/01/2026 - 3/31/2029.

Professional Services will allow a wide range of application software support services for the Xerox NearStar DataServer Application, which provides a scalable platform that helps agency customers gain control of their operation and maximize their printer hardware investment.

Xerox with NearStar is responsible for the development of the basis system which was created to assist Xerox with all Xerox printing, including multi-language mass mailings. NearStar is a privately held Texas based corporation and sole owner of the software called DataServer and DataDoc that was purchased through Xerox for use by the HRA. DataServer and DataDoc software are proprietary to NearStar.

The Professional Support for the software, programming and integration work for the system functionality HRA requires can only be supplied by NearStar s support and professional services staff, currently processed through the Xerox contract.
