Scope overview
Greater Wellington Regional Council (GW) is seeking RFPs from a suitable supplier to provide the services to complete the site preparation & planting aspects of the phased retirement of grazing and restoration at Queen Elizabeth Park (31 ha) & Kaitoke Regional Park (11 ha) as outlined in the draft Restoration Plans.
In 2019, GWRC declared a �climate emergency� and formally established emissions reduction targets for the organisation to become carbon neutral by 2030, and climate positive thereafter. The Low Carbon Acceleration Fund (LCAF) was established through the 2020-2021 Annual Plan to reduce GW�s carbon footprint.
The successful implementation of the Restoration will ensure GW�s organisational climate objectives and Toitu Te Whenua� vision and stretch goals are achieved. To �Protect and restore high levels of terrestrial and freshwater ecosystem health to enhance biodiversity and ecosystem services�.
