Scope overview
Local Law 196 (2017) establishes Site Safety Training requirements for workers at most construction sites in the City of New York. Local Law 196 also requires that an agency designated by the Mayor will develop a program to provide equal access to the training required by Section 3321 of the New York City Building Code.
The New York City Department of Small Business Services (SBS) has been designated to provide such a training program and to ensure that these essential safety standards are in place to protect the lives of construction workers and the public consistent with the requirements outlined in the local law.
