RFP - Construction of Keele Street Sanitary Sewer

This RFP is issued for the purpose of obtaining Proposals for the Construction of the Keele Street Sanitary Sewer (the “Scope of Work”). The proposed sanitary sewer will be installed via micro-tunnelling within the Keele Street right-of-way, between future Sugar Maple Way (approximately 150m north of Sheppard Avenue West), and the Maryport Trunk Relief Sewer (approximately 600m south of Sheppard Avenue West). The Keele Sanitary Sewer consists of a 1200mm diameter sanitary sewer that will be installed via micro-tunnelling. This diameter represents the minimum size required to achieve the necessary radius for keeping the main tunnelling shafts off the travelled portion of Keele Street, while also accommodating the micro-tunneling guidance system. It is anticipated that the main tunnelling operation will initiate in the vicinity of MH2 with an initial drive to the northward to MH4 at Sugar Maple Way. A second drive southward to the existing Maryport Sanitary Trunk Relief Sewer at MH1 will act as an interim connection until the City of Toronto’s Keele Relief Sanitary Trunk Sewer is operational. Along the northward drive, MH3 will be installed to provide operational functionality for the City of Toronto and also serve as a connection point for the future Downsview Community Recreation Centre which will be situated within the Company’s lands, approximately in the southeast corner of Sheppard Avenue West and Keele Street.
