Deze aanbesteding heeft als doel het waarborgen van de continuïteit van de dienstverlening en uitvoering van overheidstaken op het water, voor minimaal zeven schepen met de optie om uit te breiden naar maximaal negentien schepen.
Daarom is voor minimaal negentien schepen satellietcommunicatie noodzakelijk ten behoeve van Crew Welfare, waarmee wordt voorzien in de behoefte aan connectiviteit voor de initiële duur van 2 jaar en 5 maanden met driemaal optioneel één jaar verlenging.
