Scope overview

Sciex 8600 QTOF SYSTEM Sciex 8600 QTOF SYSTEM (the whole functioning system includes LC-MS and accessories) Specific needs and required functionalities of the instrument: 1. The Sciex 8600 QTOF instruments incorporate essential and unique technologies that are pivotal for our research in metabolomics, lipidomics, and proteomics.

The patented DJET ion guide (US patent 10475633) significantly enhances sensitivity by over tenfold from the previous version (7600), which is crucial for achieving our research objectives. The specific design of the DJET facilitates high mass transmission mode, allowing large intact proteins (> 100kDa) to be effectively transferred to the detector, thereby expanding our proteomics research capabilities. 2.

The EAD fragmentation cell in the Sciex 8600 system enables fragmentation tuning suitable for your analytes using different electron energies (up to 50 eV) and electron currents. The EAD cell (US patent 10014166) supports rapid reaction times of less than 5 ms without compromising data quality, even for singly charged molecules.

Additionally, the EAD cell, in combination with the unique ZenoTRAP (US patent US7456388), produces highly intense MS/MS spectra for fragmented ions. 3. The ion source must be interchangeable from analytical flow to nanoflow without removing and changing the source this is due to the instruments use needing to switch between metabolomics (analytical flow) and proteomics (micro and nano flow). 4.

Must be able to perform APCI measurements without the need for buy extra parts to the ion source due to cross compatibility with existing instruments 5. The ability to perform ZTscan 2.0 DIA methods for both small molecules and peptides at scan speeds up to 858 Hz.,
