Scope overview

The UK Department for Science, Innovation and Technology has commissioned a second iteration of the Semiconductor Sector Study to inform policy development and support the country's Modern Industrial Strategy.

This research builds upon the 2023 sector study and will conduct comprehensive analysis of the UK semiconductor landscape, including design capabilities, manufacturing, supply chain resilience, workforce skills, and investment trends. The study aims to assess progress toward positioning the UK as a top-three global hub for high-growth technology businesses by 2035.
