Somalia Seeks International Consultant for Economic Outlook Analysis

Responsibilities The Consultant will provide high-level international expertise in leading the economic analysis, research, and development of comprehensive strategies for the Somali Economic Outlook report.

This role will focus on leveraging global economic insights to assess economic trends, identify growth opportunities, and formulate policy recommendations that will significantly inform the National Transformation Plan 2025-2029.

The e-mail address is provided below. 3. Selection criteria The selection shall be based on the qualifications, experience and skills of the candidate and followed by an interview.

The qualifications, experience and competencies include: Advanced degree (PhD preferred) in Economics, Development Economics, or related field from a globally recognized institution. Minimum 10 years of international experience in economic analysis, development consulting, or related roles, focusing on emerging markets and post-conflict economies.

Strong knowledge of the regional economic landscape and development challenges, as well as broader African and global economic trends. Experience working with international financial institutions, UN agencies, or major global consulting firms. 4. Reporting The Economic Development Consultant will report directly to the Director of Economic Development and work in close collaboration with the national Local Economist.

5. Duration of assignment The estimated duration of the consultancy assignment is 30 days with no extension. The Ministry of Planning, Investment and Economic Development now invites eligible Individual Consultants to indicate their interest in providing the above-mentioned services.
