Protein Analysis Services for Adult Asthma Research Samples

Hankinnan kohteena on Seinäjoki Adult Asthma Study (SAAS) -tutkimusprojektissa kerättyjen seerumi- ja/tai plasmanäytteiden proteiinimääritysten analyysipalvelu. Tutkimussuunnitelmassa on ennalta määritelty analysoitavat biomarkkerit, jotka sisältyvät projektin sytokiini- ja immuunivalvontapaneeleihin.

Kyseiset paneelit muodostavat analyyttisesti yhtenäisen kokonaisuuden, jossa mittausten keskinäinen vertailtavuus ja samassa analyysijärjestelmässä tuotettu data ovat välttämättömiä tutkimuksen tieteellisen luotettavuuden varmistamiseksi. Hankintaa ei voida jakaa osiin esimerkiksi eri laboratorioihin siten, että menetelmäerot eivät aiheuttaisi mittausvirhettä tai vertailukelvottomuutta.

Lisäksi on huomioitava, että tutkimusnäytteen määrä on rajallinen. Hankinnan kohteena olevat analyysipalvelut hankitaan yksinomaan tutkimuskäyttöön. Analyysituloksia ei käytetä potilashoitoa koskevaan päätöksentekoon eikä potilaiden diagnostiikkaan tai hoidon seurantaan, vaan ne palvelevat tutkimussuunnitelman mukaisia tieteellisiä tavoitteita.
