Entreprenøren skal gennemføre omlægninger af nødoverløb fra eksisterende de biologiske bassiner og udløbstårn for at gå udenom Lynetteholmens perimeter (herefter "Projektet").Formålet for BIOFOS med Projektet er, at sikre nødoverløbet fungerer som en passiv sikker løsning.
Der kan i dag ske nødoverløb ved de ikke forudsigelige hændelser (Strømafbrydelse, spjæld som går i stå i lukket tilstand, brud på ledninger etc.). Opretholdelse af nødoverløbets funktion er således essentielt.
