Scope overview
Het verleggen en aanpassen van het stamriool maakt onderdeel uit van gebiedsontwikkeling KnoopXL. In deze gebiedsontwikkeling wordt de stationsomgeving van Eindhoven klaargemaakt voor de toekomst. Hiervoor worden ca. 9.000 nieuwe woningen en diverse grootschalige nieuwe infrastructuur gerealiseerd.
Het verleggen van het stamriool is een randvoorwaarde voor de realisatie van een ondergronds busstation (Multimodale Knoop). Het huidige tracé van het stamriool loopt namelijk dwars door het gebied waar het nieuwe busstation inclusief ondergrondse bustunnels gepland staat.
De uitvoering van de werkzaamheden aan het busstation staat gepland vanaf 2030 en vormt daarmee een belangrijke aanjager voor de gebiedsontwikkeling aan de noordzijde van het spoor. Oplevering van het nieuwe stamriool in oktober 2029.
