Scope overview
The Dunedin City Councils (DCCs) Animal Services team is responsible for the delivery of regulatory services associated with the control of dogs and dog owners meeting their obligations in complying with the Dog Control Act. The unit also actively promotes responsible ownership of dogs and strives towards minimising danger, distress and nuisance caused by dogs to the community, wildlife and natural habitats.
To ensure the continued delivery of these services the DCC needs to renew its contract for the provision of veterinary services by engaging an experienced, professional and local veterinary services partner on a long-term contract.
The DCC seeks to secure the services of an established veterinary practice able to deliver both of the following services on a local basis: De-sexing of dogs Humane euthanasia of dogs and cremation/disposal. The DCC has a set budget for the provision of these services. We are seeking proposals/response to quantify the volumes possible for the available budget.
Continuation of the contract will be dependent on the availability of budget funding.
